My 2nd Post Overdue

So I had planned on following up with a wonderful little introductions to a few of my favorite fountain pen things, complete with pictures(!), just a couple of days after my last post but I ran into a problem.

My problem is I am fairly computer illiterate and can't figure out the whole getting the pictures from the camera to my computer thing! Since a pen blog without pictures is like looking at scratch & sniff stickers online I need to suss this out before I move forward. So... I think I'm on to something, but it involves more time than I currently have, so it will be delayed until at least tonight.

I will however explain a little more about what I plan to do here. I can only write about what I know and I only know what I have and what I have is cheap fountain pens, fun ink, and GREAT paper. I am planning on working my way through my small, but growing, collection with charm, wit, and pictures (as soon as I figure out how!).

So coming soon - I am going to give a little review of some of my current workhorses: Noodler's Zhivago and the Pelikan Script 1.0. Zhivago is a great green-black ink that at first glance appears straight-up black but then you get the lurking bits of green swimming around. The Script throws down a thick, statement making line that shows off Zhivago's color excellently AND makes my questionable handwriting look halfway decent.

UPDATE 5/24/10:
I actually figured it out! Thank you folks on FPN for your advice.
I'll be posting a review of Noodler's Zhivago soon.

First Thoughts

Starting my very own blog.

I have been an avid blog reader for some time now and my most recent obsession was the world of pens, paper, and ink. What began as a casual love for nice gel pens that grew into a rapid purchasing spree of Japanese office supplies. I had always written in a small moleskine and these pens all performed differently on the paper, some better than others. The colors astounded me!

I then looked to different paper options. Moleskine not having the best reliability was becoming an issue for me especially as I watched reviews written on fancy papers - of the Clairefontaine variety, ooh la la.

A couple Rhodia pads and some assorted notebooks later, (I'll get into detail on them all later), I started wanting more from my pen and purchased my first Platinum Preppy. Now I am a member of Fountain Pen Network (Truppi327) and I'm growing my pen, ink, and paper collection as I indulge a growing writing habit.

I was concerned that with so many great pen blogs out there that my opinions would be irrelevant. Then I thought about it and figured that another opinion out there wouldn't hurt and it will be a good writing exercise so, here it is!

Entries will be infrequent and I need to get the camera situation settled. More on pens, paper, and ink to come!
